ADVANCE PLANNING FOR END OF LIFE
WORKSHOP FOR LIVING WELL DYING WELL END OF LIFE DOULAS AND DOULAS IN TRAINING
- £95 for Members of End of Life Doula UK
- £125 for those in the LWDW network who are currently not members of End of Life Doula UK. (please email email@example.com if you wish to join prior to registration)
This workshop is open to those who have trained or are in training with Living Well Dying Well, who will have had a brief introduction to Advance Planning for End of Life. This one day workshop goes much further and provides the confidence, knowledge and skills to do this work with individuals at any stage in their lives. On the workshop we cover the Advance Planning Umbrella and all that it can entail

At the end of the workshop we will equip you and provide ongoing mentoring to prepare your own Advance Plan For End of Life and to undertake your first planning session with a friend or family member. Some of us who have done the workshop have gone on to offered this as a service for which we have been paid.
On completion of the workshop and the submission of two Advance Plans (where you will be mentored and supported) you will receive a Certificate of Competence and are eligible to receive referrals to do this work or speak at community events under the banner of Living Well Dying Well and End of Life Doula UK.
The workshop is interactive and practical, facilitated by Aly Dickinson End of Life Doula. Aly has spent the last 3 years developing and continuously updating Advance Planning ‘know how’ for LWDW as well as running information sessions in her Community and training Volunteers.
I went to the Advance Planning Workshop a year ago and got so much from it. It gave me the confidence that as a trained Doula – out there practising – I had already got the relationship and empathy skills to do this work. The big plus was that the technical/legal/knowledge base required was given to us in an easily understandable and accessible way. Since the training I have done Advance Plans for End of Life with people (some of whom do not have a terminal diagnosis) on a one on one basis. It is so rewarding and I get paid for it too! EMN
I knew that I wanted to develop my skills and knowledge base in Advance Planning for End of Life. The workshop certainly did that. It’s a complex and sensitive subject and I now really get what is involved to do this work well. I find it a fascinating area and believe that all Doulas should do the workshop as it gets to the heart of what we do and provides a ‘way in’ with people who have a life limiting illness. HJ

Booking Conditions and Cancellation Policy. Booking a place represents a commitment to attend every day of the course booked, which may involve two or more blocks some weeks apart. Before booking a place please ensure that you can commit to all dates of the course.
If you wish to cancel within 14 days of making your booking you will receive a full refund of the price paid. In the event of a cancellation after 14 days, the deposit element of £100 is non-refundable.
If you cancel up to 28 days before the course starts, 25% of the course fee is retained. If less than 28 days notice is given, 50% of fee will be retained. If less than 14 days notice the full fee will be retained. All cancellations must be received in writing either by letter or email.
We regret requests to transfer to a future course rather than a complete cancellation will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and will incur an administration fee of £50.
In the unlikely event of cancellation by LWDW it should be noted that we will not be held liable for any participants’ travel/accommodation costs.
