Traditionally, Doulas are present at the birth of a child. They work alongside the midwife to provide emotional, spiritual comfort and practical assistance to the mother and to gently lead the newborn into the world.
Now, there is an emerging non-medical role: End of Life Doulas, individuals who help those who are dying, and their families, to feel safe and supported, as they make the transition from this life to what’s next.
Many people feel they could play a role in supporting people at the end of life. Until now there has been no established training programme in the UK. The course is certified by Crossfields Institute.
Courses take place near in Barcombe, near Lewes, East Sussex and Lanarkshire in Scotland.
Please contact us for more information or a brochure.
